Eric Chen, Founder and CEO

Persony was founded in 2004 by Eric Chen, a successful serial entrepreneur and co-inventor of Apple QuickTime VR. Prior to founding Persony, Eric was the founder and CEO of Presenter, Inc., a Web-based presentation company acquired by WebEx Communications, Inc. in 2003.

Eric founded his first company RealSpace, Inc. in 1996 to develop software for creating online virtual tours. RealSpace was acquired by Live Picture, Inc. and Eric became CTO of Live Picture. Under Eric's direction, Live Picture created many award-winning virtual tour products, such as PhotoVista for stitching digital photos to create panoramas and Reality Studio for creating interactive virtual tours.

Prior to founding RealSpace, Eric worked at Apple's Advanced Technology Group for 7 years as a research scientist, where he was an early pioneer of image-based rendering and published many papers in prestigious computer graphics conferences and journals. Two of Eric's papers have been selected as seminal graphics papers by ACM SIGGRAPH.

Eric received his master's degree in computer graphics from Cornell University. He has bachelor's and master's degrees in industrial design from National Cheng-Kung University, Taiwan and the Ohio State University respectively. Eric is a prolific inventor and holds 14 US patents. One of Eric's proudest achievements is being the first to create virtual tours of the StarTrek Enterprise, the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City in Beijing, and the White House.

Herb Levitin, VP of Business Development

As VP of Business Development, Herb is responsible for developing Persony's reseller channels and target markets. Herb began providing voice and data systems integration from his Santa Barbara, California facility in 1989. Within three years Mr. Levitin was recognized as one of the leading independent voice and data experts in the country, and had partnered with AT&T, MCI and Sprint.

When the Internet was in its infancy, Mr. Levitin was positioning Powercom as a leading authority on Cisco's router product line. He was also leveraging his electrical engineering background to provide computer grade power equipment to support his network efforts. Mr. Levitin's expertise in these areas led to Powercom's success in designing large-scale wide area networks (WAN's) for Fortune 1000 companies and major Internet Service Providers. By the turn of the century, Powercom had become the area's largest Cisco equipment provider - and the second largest Sprint data sales provider in the nation.

With over 13 years experience as a telecommunications agent for major local and long distance carriers and a past member of the Pacific Bell Business council, Mr. Levitin's focus began shifting to the audio conferencing market in 2001. In less than three years, he formed a group of audio conference companies, offering innovative web interfaces, turn-key conferencing business solutions and unique hosting services.

Mr. Levitin is an electronic engineer who graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with honors in 1974.
